BASIC TOOLS NEEDED FOR POLYMER CLAY
INSTRUCTIONS FOR BAKING SCULPEY PREMO AND SOUFFLE CLAYS
Polymer clay can be baked in a regular household oven. DO NOT BAKE AT THE SAME TIME YOU ARE BAKING FOOD.
You can also use an air fryer, convection oven, or toaster oven to cure your clay.
The temperature settings on all ovens can vary. I recommend testing with an oven thermometer to ensure you are at the ideal temperatures. Please make sure the shelf is the furthest position from the heat source.
Place your clay on a tile. You can put a piece of printer paper between your clay and tile to prevent the bottom of your piece from getting shiny. Lghtly fold a piece of foil in a tent shape and place on top of your piece.
Please do a few test-bakes before placing your clay in the oven. There is a fine line between under-baked and over-baked. Under-baked clay will still be “raw” inside, which may result in cracking or shape distortion, while an over-baked clay may brown, crack or bubble on the surface.
